What Is ACV?
What is ACV and what are the benefits of apple cider vinegar? Apple cider vinegar is, in simple terms, fermented apple juice. Apples are pressed, and the juice is collected and stored for a period of time to allow for fermentation. During the fermentation process, malic and acetic acids are naturally produced; these give it a sour flavor.
Traditionally, apple cider vinegar was used as a type of “alternative medicine” in Africa, and it was considered essential to daily life in Japan and China. Its use is traced back to the 8th century BCE (Khakpour, 2015).
What Is Apple Cider Vinegar Good For?
There have been many studies relating the consumption of apple cider vinegar to managing different body functions. Another benefit of apple cider vinegar is its weight management properties. This study used a sample of participants on a controlled diet, with some individuals taking apple cider vinegar and some not. The outcome was that the participants using apple cider vinegar saw a greater improvement in their healthy weight levels than those without. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1756464618300483
